Frozen Motion by Dieter Hastenteufel

Dieter Hastenteufel created “Frozen Motion” using limestone and iron, and gives the impression of a large stone being driven through many layers of steel starting with larger holes that progressively become smaller. Born in Basel, Switzerland his family moved to Germany where he studied Sculpture and Ceramic-Mural at the Academy of Fine Art in Stuttgart, Germany in 1968. He moved to Canada in 1969 and was living in Flesherton, Ontario at the time of the 1976 symposium.

In 1975 he exhibited in “Canada on Canvas” , Three Schools Exhibition in Toronto.  He also participated in group shows at McMaster Gallery in Hamilton, Burnaby Gallery in British Columbia and “Ontario on View” in Toronto.
